Oval Talavera Planter

Talavera is a type of majolica ceramic that arises from the 16th century. Majolica, is the name given since the Renaissance to a type of ceramic decoration on earthenware, with a lead glaze opacified with tin and later decorated with the various motifs with oxides on the previous base.

The Mexican Talavera is distinguished by the use of colors such as cobalt blue, yellow, green, terracotta, black and orange, using drawings of flowers, animals and all kinds of figures created with ingenuity and creativity.
