Light Brown Vase with 3 Painted Birds

The Nahua people are indigenous to central Mexico and are the most well-known descendents of the Aztec. The pottery that they make tends to be monochromatic: reds, browns, and beiges dominate their color pallet. The designs and shapes of the vessels, however, are not simple. Straying from the typical jar or olla style pottery, the Nahuans create many different shapes including deer, birds, goats, and even people.
